Dear Farallon Friends,
Welcome to 2003! The new year seems to be off and running at a good pace here in
Union Square. We have a few things happening at the restaurant that we thought
you might be interested in.
Dine About Town.
As the "Dine About Town" promotion winds down city wide, we wanted to remind
everyone that we offer a three course lunch for $19.00 everyday. We decided
to continue with this price instead of $19.95, which is what the city
sponsored promotion is offering. If you missed it during the month
of January you do have eleven other months of the year to have the
same offering; as well as our five course Coastal Cuisine Grand
Tasting Lunch and our ala carte menu. Please take a moment to see
our current lunch menu.
Crab Fest.
San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau will be sponsoring the first "Crab
Fest" during the month of February. The month will actually kickoff on Friday
January 31st at the Bon Appetit Wine & Spirits Grand Tasting. This year it
will be held from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Fort Mason. We will be there serving
Farallon style snacks and trying food from many other restaurants. The rest
of the month we will be recognizing the importance of Dungeness crab by
bringing back one of our original signature appetizers: crab with truffled
mashed potatoes and sea urchin sauce. We haven't had this on the menu for
sometime and people still come in asking for it. If you are one of those
guests take note - the month of February will be for you.
Construction Update.
If you have stopped by since October you have certainly noticed the scaffolding
in front of our building. The work should be finished in the next week or so.
In addition to the façade being restored to look new and beautiful, and
seismically safe, we are all very happy to have the equipment out of the way.
From all of us at Farallon, thank you for taking a moment to catch up on our
latest news. We hope to see you soon for lunch or dinner.
Sincerely,
Mark Franz
Executive Chef/Owner
